ABOUT ME
I am an enthusiastic 21 year old with a passion for adventure and an unwavering appetite for knowledge. I have a small obsession with placing myself in unfamiliar contexts in the hopes of learning how to comfortably navigate the situation. In short, I strive every day to become comfortable with the uncomfortable.
Some of my favorite things to do include reading, blogging, laughing, eating, public speaking, hiking, traveling, listening to podcasts, meeting new people, and spending time with family and friends. In particular, I have discovered a profound love for juicy cheeseburgers with weird ingredients, upbeat music with creative lyrics, late night conversations with interesting people, and picnics in the grass on sunny days.
I hope to continue on my journey of discovery by getting to know a variety of people across the world and create a global network of good friends.
THE PROJECT
In an effort to "belong anywhere," I will be using the summer to travel across the United States, meet exceptional individuals, and experience new cities. Here are my objectives for the trip:
Objective One: Personify the Mission of Airbnb.
As I travel and stay with different Airbnb hosts, I will publish daily blog posts profiling my Airbnb hosts and other interesting people I meet along the way. By gaining insight into the unique lived experiences of people from other cities, I'll attempt to detail the interaction without sacrificing its authenticity, and proliferate a collection of beautifully human stories.
Objective Two: Humanize the City.
In each city, I'll be seeking out seek out unique places according to the locals and feature them in daily blog posts to put a unique spin on the city. I hope to discover unknown places and things that make the city uniquely exquisite.
Objective Three: Seek Out the Extraordinary.
I'd love to discover and help bring to light unpublicized, extraordinary talent. In an effort to do so, I'll be looking for past MacArthur Grant nominees who are continuing to do incredible things for their community.

I am 21, healthy, imaginative, and overly enthusiastic about life. I have one summer left before I have to be a "real" adult. This is my time to move fearlessly into the unknown, to expect nothing and experience everything, to do the things my peers and I never thought we could because we were told we had to prepare for life instead of live it.
